Forest Essentials Baby Head Massage Oil Dasapushpadi review

Massaging baby’s head and body is a practise which is passed down from one family to another for generations. Mustard oil is one with which we started massaging our baby but unfortunately it didn’t suit his sensitive skin so we had to take a call to change it. Therefore, we bought “Forest Essentials Baby Head Massage Oil Dasapushpadi” and Sebamed body massage oil for body.

I think that massages are great way to bond with your new born and it also to relaxes the baby. Massages always help relax my baby giving him better sleep. You can read on wiki for “How to Massage A Baby”

Few common questions that you may have in mind. Let’s discuss all these below:

  • What time do you give massage to baby?

I massage my baby’s head and body twice. One in the morning half an hour before giving him bath, and then at night 1 hour before sleep. I do not give massage to baby when he gets vaccination as he doesn’t like it that time

  •  Should I massage baby head as well?

Yes, why not, no massage is complete without massaging baby’s head. One just need to be careful with the pressure applied.

  • How many times should I massage the head?

There is no hard and fast rule. No one can schedule the number of times you should give head and body massage. If you have time and your baby enjoys it you can even do it three to four times. However, I give massage to my baby two times a day.

  • My baby never let’s me touch her head. What should I do?

It is very normal for babies. While some children like it when people touch their head, there are other babies who don’t enjoy it much. Do not worry and wait for her to grow. She might like it once she grows up.

  • How should I massage my baby’s head?

Be extremely gentle with your new-born. Your baby has two soft spots one at the back and one right at the top. These are known as fontanelles. The back soft spot will close in about 6 weeks however the top might take 9 months. My baby is 11 months old already and he still has it. Though it is not as soft as it used to be when he was younger.

  • My baby has cradle crap can I still apply oil on his head?

It is important that the cradle crap softens. You can definitely apply the oil and let it sock in baby’s head. Then comb baby’s hair backwards so that the cradle crap comes out on its own. Do not try to remove it if it is not soft.  Combing hair backwards makes it leave baby’s head easily.

  •  Is there any specific age when I should stop massaging my baby?

Every baby is different and as your baby starts crawling she/he might not be okay sitting at one place. My baby use to get massages for half and hour. This time kept on decreasing. And now that he started crawling it is limited to only 10-15 minutes.

My Experience with Forest Essentials Baby Head Massage Oil Dasapushpadi

Forest Essentials Baby Head Massage Oil Dasapushpadi review

To start with I love the smell of this amazing head massage oil. It is lightweight, non-sticky oil. Well, I should say that is not very sticky. I heat the oil and massage gently on my baby’s scalp. My baby was born with relatively lesser hair and one of my friend suggested this oil to me.

I started using this head massage oil when my baby was 1 month old, 3-4 times initially as it also calms him down. As said before my kid was born with less hair I started using this oil. I was surprised to see that in just 2 months I could see the difference. I could see that he started getting better quality hair.

Moreover, it relaxes  him each time I apply this on his head. You can see the above before and after pictures.

The oil gets absorbs nicely but not very quickly giving me enough time to massage it properly into his scalp. This also keeps his scalp moisturised for at least 3-4 hours. Initially I use to apply oil 4 times and now I am applying it just 2 times in a day.

Definitely I am not trying any other product as this oil is also free of all chemicals. The bottle is sturdy and is travel friendly too. The bottle lasts 2 months. It actually depends on the usage. It will definitely last longer for some.

The best part is that it has low viscosity which means that it is with perfect consistency and not thick like a honey. Low viscosity also means that the oil spreads nicely because of the thin consistency covering more area on head easily.

Moreover, it is believed that this oil improves the eyesight and cools the head. So why not to use such a thing that is full of all benefits. Ingredients list below:
