We wish all our Readers, friends a Very Happy Ganesh Chaturthi. This is the Day when lord Ganesha , the lord of good fortune ,wisdom and prosperity was born.

Being a north Indian I just knew these two lines about the significances of this festival but after coming to Mumbai and seeing the spirit of people towards this festival, the same enthusiasm and spirit has nurtured within me.

It is a 10 day festival. Three months prior to the festival you can see beautiful idols being made in all sizes by skilled craftsmen. On the day of chaturthi, these idols are brought and established in beautifully decorated temples or pandals   which you can be seen everywhere. The enthusiasm and joy that people have while bringing lord Ganesha, is worth watching. The idol is worshipped everyday for the next 10 days and then the visarjan is done.

We have also welcomed the lord at our home and hope that he bestows his blessings upon us.

And May the blessings of Sri Ganesha be upon you all!
