Rimmel Appocalips Lip Lacquer 303 Apocaliptic: Review, Swatches & Lip Of The Day

I don’t believe in New Year resolutions because I can’t stick to them for too long. So I would say my new year 2014 new thought was to start trying new brands which I haven’t used yet. And so taking my current thought forward I did a tiny mini Rimmel haul to start a new adventure with this award winning brand, a brand of which bloggers rave about!

Rimmel London new stay matte foundation was a hit last year and a lot of people swear by its stay matte pressed face powder!

MY EXPERIENCE WITH RIMMEL APPOCALIPS LIP LACQUER 303 APOCALIPTIC

Packaging: The way it’s packed also impresses me. I love the shaded black-red plastic tube. The sponge applicator is gentle and spongy, and in just two dips I get the desired color on my lips. I think the applicator tip is shallow which picks up the product correctly and conveniently.

Shade: There are a nice variety of shades in this range from bright to nude color I wish to try them all. A number of shades are available in the market; however the store from where I bought stocked only six shades. As I was looking for a neon shade this shade 303 Apocaliptis looked perfect and caught my fancy. It’s a purple-red (majenta), pinkinsh neon shade.

Pigmentation & Staying power: It’s creamy and highly pigmented, very opaque, as you can also see in the pics below. It has amazing staying power. It stayed on my lips for straight 4-5 hours and faded slowly without losing much impact. It leaves a nice & a very prominent stain on the lip which I just adore.

Texture: Rimmel Appocalips lip lacquer is a satin finish lipstick-gloss. The gloss moisturizes the lips (at the time of application) and doesn’t feel dry on lips. It covers the lips without tugging it and any hassle.

1)   It’s very opaque.

2)   It’s decently priced.

3)   Lovely shades available.

4)   It doesn’t dry out the lips which cannot be pampered by a lip balm.

5)   Amazingly long lasting formula!

6)   No weird smell! ( thank god)

7)   I love the packaging! Bonus point for sure!

1)   Availability is an only issue I can think of with these. I have seen a lot of bloggers rave about various light shades as well but it’s not easily available! L

2)   Transfers a bit but then which lipstick doesn’t!

3)   I was expecting it to be even more moisturizing. ( not that they are dry, but just felt that ways)
