Hiya,

My Experience With Revlon Photoready Perfecting Primer

Primers are used to minimize the skin imperfections. They are supposed to even out the skin and create a good base for the makeup. I love to use primers. I have pores on the apple of my cheeks that I like to conceal! 😛

Revlon Photoready Perfecting Primer review

Revlon Photoready Perfecting Primer packed in a glass bottle has a pump dispenser that I really love as it’s hygienic and the packaging looks classy. It may not be travel friendly though. Revlon Photoready Perfecting Primer has two variants (A) Perfecting Primer (B) Color Correcting Primer. The later is meant to neutralize redness on face and hence I brought the Revlon Photoready Perfecting Primer for myself.

It is a whitish, creamy consistency lotion that looks like tinted pink shade while in the bottle. As I start blending the Revlon Photoready Perfecting Primer, it gets soaked into the skin well. Also, it is light weight and smooth. It can be blended easily.

Moreover, the primer evens out the skinblurs the pores and few fine lines to some extent. I can instantly see a healthy look on my face and also a matte effect on skin. Not to forget, it did help my foundation to stay a bit longer but as luck would have it, I couldn’t find any major difference that could really explain me the exorbitant price of this product! 🙁

Swatch and how Revlon Photoready Perfecting Primer looks on my hand

Turn On: Revlon Photoready Perfecting Primer

1)    It blends easily and creates smooth canvas.

2)    Its light weight and perfect for combination-oily skin.

3)    It blurs the appearance of pores to some extent.

4)    It didn’t break me out.

5) It is Paraben-Free! 🙂

Turn Off: Revlon Photoready Perfecting Primer

1)    It might be a little drying on an already dry skin. Just an assumption as I need to moisturize my (oily) skin to let it blend nicely.

2)    The limited/common  features do not explain the exorbitant price.

3)    It has a weird smell which of course disappears within few minutes of application.

4)    The high price is definitely a deal-breaker here!

COSMOCHICS RATING: 4/5

“INFO ON A SILVER PLATTER”- Revlon Photoready Perfecting Primer is a nice option to try if you are looking for a drugstore primer. Well the price really ruled out the concept of it being a drugstore product though (lol 😛 ). It’s a nice option that has the features a primer must have but honestly I am not super impressed with it. The photoready foundation on the other hand would be a good buy from this range.

      1. yes .. same feeling for this primer ….. but problem is now i have to finish this one which i dont like .. and i used colorbar ..which i feel better than this … aand smell is…. yukk

  1. I will be purchasing my 1st ever primer & Iam in dilemma which one to purchase, revlon or colorbar primer? I hv combination skin with super oily T zone and dry cheeks, so i want to go for a primer which will keep me oil free give a healthy glow to my skin…..now from lots of review i read, i came to know, colorbar is better for ool control but mattifies the skin, that is it wont give me a glowy skin whereas revlon will give me a glow, but as summer is approaching, will it control my oily T zone?? Any suggestions Shivi?? And all the girls around here anyone plz like to help me out??

  2. Hi Prerna!

As you correctly said that colorbar won’t give you glow on the face for that Revlon is better…but remember that glow means that a product is making your face dewy which again means that it might make skin oily quickly….so yes for glow Revlon & for oil control Colorbar…..

I know this doesn’t help much but choice depends on your requirement … :thumbup

    Stick around! 🙂
