It is important to get a hygienic and clean face after hours of makeup caking. Even if you opt for minimal makeup, cleaning every bit of it is necessary to keep the pores clean. There are a number of options in the market for effective facial cleaning. There are face cleansers that remove waterproof makeup, wet-wipes and also the makeup removers.

These remove makeup, dirt, excess oil from face and neck area. Yes! These should be used down the neck too.

MY EXPERIENCE WITH COLORBAR ULTIMATE MAKEUP REMOVER FOR OILY & COMBINATION SKIN

With sturdy plastic bottle and blue liquid in it, it bowled many of the spectators who saw it the first time after its launch this year!

The plus point which made many of the beauty gurus do the happy dance was that the first time COLORBAR came up with the variants according to different skin types. There was an option for everyone. It was like colorbar was playing SANTA and had a bag of goodies for all the skin types…lol

I brought home the colorbar makeup remover for oily & combination skin variant. The remover works fine. It removed all kinds of makeup be it the normal one or the waterproof makeup. We just need to dab the cotton ball with the remover and gently apply on the area to remove makeup.

I was quite happy with it till the time I used it to remove makeup on my face and lips. I have sensitive eyes and the moment I tried to remove my eyeliner and the mascara, the remover left a stinging sensation in my eyes!!! 

Quickly I grabbed a mirror and there I got a red eye instantly. The SA mentioned it to be an all rounder, and that it is perfect to use on the eyes. Giving COLORBAR a benefit of doubt I checked their website too, thinking maybe it’s not formulated for eye makeup but they have mentioned it under application tag – “Soak a cotton pad with the lotion and apply on the eyes and lips.”

Here are the swatches- in the picture below I have applied lipstick, sindoor, eyeshadow, kajal, mascara, eye liner etc.

TURN ON: COLORBAR ULTIMATE MAKEUP REMOVER FOR OILY & COMBINATION SKIN

  • 1) Removes makeup well and easily.
  • 2) Didn’t break me out. ( I have sensitive skin)
  • 3) Will last long as the quantity provided is good.
  • 4) It’s quite gentle.

TURN OFF: COLORBAR ULTIMATE MAKEUP REMOVER FOR OILY & COMBINATION SKIN

  • 1) Expensive.
  • 2) Sting the eyes badly.
  • 3) Leaves my face a little oily( at first , then gives a matte shiny kinda finish) and sticky after I remove the makeup with it.
  • 4) One of the reasons I bought it was that it claimed to have tea tree oil and as I am an ardent fan of green tea and tea tree oil, I was expecting that it will smell like that but alas it has no smell at all. (on the other hand people with sensitive nose will rejoice as its almost odorless)

COSMOCHICS RATING: 3/5

“INFO ON A SILVER PLATTER”- Even when my skin type variant can’t do well to me, then I guess I need to understand it’s not formulated for me! This one was for oily & combination skin but it left an oily residue and I felt a stinging sensation in my eye. The expensive price is stopping me from throwing it away; maybe I will use it and finish it soon very carefully, so that not even a drop goes into my eyes!

WE LOVE TO HEAR FROM OUR READERS

Have you used any of the variant of makeup remover from colorbar?

  1. Nice review Shivi! I have always used wipes for removing makeup. This seems to be a decent product if I exclude my eyes from my face. The price is a little bit over-budget I think. Thanks for the review 🙂
