Are you on a weight loss mode ???? If yes, then the first thing that I suggest is to drink lots of water and cut on the beverages. Now if you are someone like me who is not fond of drinking regular plain water and you find it really difficult to drink liters of water, why not flavor it! Also by doing so you can cleanse your system and boost metabolism. It’s definitely a bonus and totally worth a try.
Internet is flooded with many recipes but if you want to stick to them then it should fulfill two criteria’s
– Should taste good else how will you bear the awfulness everyday
– Easy to make because if the job is cumbersome you will tend to be lazy and loose interest
After a lot of research, trying and testing I have zeroed down four flavored drinks which taste good and detoxify your body at the same time. Detox water act as catalyst in your weight loss program and can intensify the results by at least 20% because they help in improving the metabolism. Even if you are not trying to loose weight, try these drinks for your overall wellbeing.
1) Belly slimming detox water
This one is my favorite as it tastes good and I can have it all the time. All you have to do is cut thin round slices of orange, lemon, cucumber and take some mint leaves. Throw them in a bottle and add ice cold water to it. You can vary the quantity of the ingredients as per your taste. Store this drink in the refrigerator and consume it within 24 hours.
This detox water has multiple benefits.
Cucumber helps our liver and kidneys flush out the toxins in the body. Lemon and mint help in better digestion, they also add fresh flavor to the water. Oranges reduce cholesterol level and makes the immune system stronger. Drinking this water helps in reducing bloating and also shrinks your belly size.
2) Apple Cinnamon Detox Water
This is another mildly flavored drink that will help you in losing weight and detoxifying your system.
To make this, take one thinly sliced apple and a cinnamon stick. Throw them in a large bottle, add some ice and fill the remaining bottle with water. Store it in a refrigerator and consume it within 24 hours.
Apple is a detox food and adding apples in your water obviously detoxifies your body, aids your weight loss, helps in digestion, and boosts your overall health.
Cinnamon is a spice that has a little heat in it and it basically improves your metabolism thereby helping you burn more calories.
3) Green Tea:
Green Tea has multiple health benefits as it comes packed with loads of antioxidants. It reduces cholesterol, burns belly fat, protects your skin, has anti-ageing properties, balances sugar level, detoxifies your body, improves metabolism and many more so why not add this miraculous drink to your routine. If you don’t relish the taste of green tea , don’t worry, go ahead and experiment with flavors to find the right one.
P.S my personal favs are twinning’s green tea with lemon and Girnar Herbal detox tea. It tastes great and I can have it many times a day.
4) Lemon and honey
If you can’t have the above mentioned drinks then just stick to simple lemon honey water. Just take a glass of warm water and squeeze half a lemon to it, have it as the first thing in the morning and see the difference! 🙂
REMEMBER just by having these drinks you cannot detoxify your system or lose weight. If you really wish to do so, then you need to eat light and healthy food. Make lifestyle changes, exercise, have small meals 6 times a day and drink lots and lots of water.
