Hey Girls,

Have you ever realized how important it is to find a perfect makeup remover??

I went overboard with makeup removers recently; I still have two more makeup removers on my testing table. No matter what, I never get satisfied with the one I am using, some sting my eyes, few gave my skin a whole lot of burning sensation and most of them were not up to mark. Last time I brought The Body Shop Camomile cleansing balm (Review here) which is a cheaper version of “Clinique take me off”. This is a liquid version of same Camomile range which is said to be more gentle and best for sensitive skin/eyes.

My Experience With The Body Shop CAMOMILE Gentle Eye Makeup Remover

This eye makeup remover is rated as best seller in USA.  I picked up 2 bottles of this and almost finished off the 2nd bottle. The first thing I noticed was, it has a faint scent to it, not bothersome but very subtle. I am not sure if its Camomile or anything else but it doesn’t bother me.

???????????????????????????????

The formula is like water; it has no color to it. This is not like that typical “bi-phase formula”, where you get mixture of oil and water. It is just clear water, it doesn’t have any oil to leave any oily residues on skin, and neither feels tacky. It is said to be “All-in-one lash and lid cleansing, conditioning, and softening and suits “All skin types”. Well, there is something to worry about, I am not an eye shadow person (gaining interest now) but I am a huge fan of mascaras. Honestly people, I always test the efficiency of a makeup remover by waterproof mascaras. The more gentle and effective…better it is.

I take 10 drops of this remover on a cotton pad and gently press it over my eyelids, and seeing the efficiency of this makeup remover I am not Sold!

I have a love and hate relation with this product. Many people like this but I don’t. I find it pricy along with the fact that it is not good enough to remove waterproof mascaras and long wearing eye pencils.

???????????????????????????????

In the picture above you will notice, it removed most of the swatches on first swipe, and 2nd swipe removed mascaras and long wearing eye pencils. We can give pressure on our hand to remove makeup shown on pic, but do you think it’s possible on our eyes? Eyes are the most sensitive part and this makeup-remover burns my eyes like anything!

It irritates my eyes and gives burning sensation to my eyelids for atleast 2-3 minutes and then makes them horribly dry!

I stopped using this for my eyes and started using this for my face. It gently removes all makeup residue from face. It never irritated my skin though makes it dry. I am actually very disappointed with this product. It is pricy but not worth the hype. I have dry skin and this is my experience, I don’t know how it works on people with oily skin.

Plus, I am not very comfprtable with 5 ingredients like Methylparaben, Butylparaben, Ethylparaben, Isobutylparaben, and Propylparaben. So many chemical products in a gentle eyemakeup-remover ?? OMG!

Turn On: The Body Shop Camomile Gentle Eye Makeup Remover

  • Clear water consistency.
  • Has no colour to it but a faint scent which is not bothersome.
  • Gently remove face makeup and lip colors.
  • Never irritated my (face) skin or gave me burning sensations.

Turn Off: The Body Shop Camomile Gentle Eye Makeup Remover

  • It is Pricy.
  • Burns my eyelids for 2-3 minutes but then calms down.
  • Irritates my eyes a lot. 🙁
  • Useless for removing water-proof mascaras and long wearing eye pencils.
  • When it didn’t work well for my eyes I started using this for my face but unfortunately this made my dry face skin even more rough and dry. So I can’t use this expensive product at all!
  • Introducing so many chemical ingredients for an eye makeup remover makes me little uncomfortable.
  • NOT suitable for eyes, no matter what skin type you are, it is not suitable for sensitive eyes at all.

COSMOCHICS RATING: 3/5

INFO ON A SILVER PLATTER”- For me an eye makeup remover is not a good “eye makeup remover” if it doesn’t remove mascaras properly! And Honestly I am shocked that this product didn’t turn out as good as the Camomile cleansing balm which I absolutely adore!
