A number of people suffer from the unpleasant odor of the mouth that makes them uncomfortable in public and the root cause is either the food that they eat or from the bacteria that is already present in there. Consumption of tobacco & alcohol, smoking and improper oral hygiene may also cause the same problem.

Also if you don’t consume good quantity of water the problem persists. We all think that just brushing our teeth would make the germs go away. But believe me brushing is just the first step and with it cleaning your tongue and flossing should be done at regular intervals. Don’t forget to gargle with a mouthwash every day after brushing your teeth. It helps to fight germs that cause bad breath, plaque and gum problems. Also, gargle with clean water after your lunch and dinner. Do not eat anything after brushing your teeth at night.

And now today we will talk about natural ways to get rid of this embarrassing problem.

1) Mix (Any Citrus) fruit in water- Take few slices of orange and place it in water. Drink this water as and when required. This will keep your mouth moist and won’t allow drying it. Always remember during sleep the saliva production slows and that’s the reason why we have morning bad breath. So keep your mouth wet and drink loads of water. Drinking plenty of water also helps to bring healthy glow on your face. So it’s a win-win situation!

2) Cinnamon- Are you aware of the benefits of cinnamon in toothpastes? Known for its anti bacterial properties, Cinnamon helps giving fresh breath for a longer time. I boil some cinnamon sticks in water. After straining the solution I gargle with the same. (Add cardamom for some flavor if you like)

3) Cloves Remember Dabur’s lal danth Manjan? 😛 Have you used that? I have and believe me early morning it was like a strong punch in the mouth! All thanks to clove oil present in it. Cloves help in making the teeth strong by fighting germs and keep the gums healthy. Eating few clove buds will keep the bad breath at bay and its juice improves the digestion. (P.S. consumption of cloves is not advised if you are pregnant)
