10 Must Have Items For Camping!!!

Hi all I am back with yet another post or to say an adventurous event that I would like to share with y’all!

Recently with few of my friends I went camping to Payne Lake. It’s a three hours drive south of Calgary. Payne Lake is a provisional park of Alberta.

Such trips are must for everybody! It is an outdoor fun, adventurous too and most importantly it’s a break from the daily nuisances of our lives and away from any external distraction. It’s a break from the materialistic life of which we have almost become a slave!

It’s all about breathing in fresh air, stress free “Me-Time”, and a complete relaxation. Oh yeah! A little exercise during camping won’t harm you. So carry your fly fishing rod/reel or your bike and you might end up burning more calories there while enjoying the beauty all around!

We gathered few dry sticks and dead branches of the trees lying on the ground and lit the fire. Did you notice? We didn’t pluck the twigs from the trees, the basic rule while camping! Since, we were there to enjoy and not harm the untouched beauties. We cooked steaks, hams, eggs, mushrooms, prepared harsh browns and what not! Such trips with friends are good memories for ever!

We took a dip in the lake’s fresh water and did some fishing. These outdoor trips are must for everybody! 🙂 🙂

Few essentials that are must for such Camping Trips!

1) A tent– of course…the soul of camping!!!

Do you know that now we get Inflatable tents too that requires no poles!

2) First aid box With essential medications– not just while camping but you should have one such box in your car always!

3) GPS- a thing that knows every route! Also, always keep a map handy if in case the GPS stops working! Don’t take a wrong turn 😛

4) Flashlight & match box/lighter!

5) Sleeping bag- while few are okay with the bed sheets and rugs in the tent, I would suggest a sleeping bag that keeps you safe from the unpredictable weather in the wilderness!

6) Pocket size knife and utensils to cook if you plan so.

7) A rope too! What! We trying to be adventurous… Right! 🙂

8) Mosquito repellent (spray/cream)! I forgot to take it with me and had hard time while sleeping.

9) Camera with extra batteries. I have done a lot of camping and road trips and the one thing that I found out hard way is that batteries die soon ( discharge) and leave you in tears! Maybe I am melodramatic but extra pair is always a better option!

10) Personal hygienic stuff & clothes! Even if you are in the woods you need to carry extra clean clothes, toothpaste, brush, soap, towel etc. and please don’t share your things…apart from the tooth paste! A light lotion for face & body will help! 🙂

Also no matter when your late date was, always carry few sanitary pads if you are a girl. Avoid any awkward situation.
