A shoe wardrobe edition, this was long due but for some reasons, it didn’t make it to the final publish stage but here it is, better late than never.
Featured today are these suede beauties from Forever 21. The fashion community is always big on boots but I don’t see myself steering towards them, blame it on Mumbai weather, I don’t really feel like pairing any outfit with boots, no matter how chic they look. But I wanted to have one in my shoe wardrobe just to accompany me when I am on a holiday and then I came across these Suede ankle boots, with a 2-inch heel, and sculptural V-cut sides. They bend easily so I can just slip them on and the heel is comfy, contrary to what I thought. I have used them on two of my trips and they did withstand a lot of walking, even on snow and didn’t bother me a bit. My peeps called me crazy when I decided to wear them to Disneyland last year because they had heels and you have to walk a lot in places like these but nope….they were super comfortable.
Boots are a must have as they serve a good dose of attitude and sophistication. Team them with denim shorts, maxi skirts, skinny jeans, or a bodycon, they look good with anything. When it comes to boots, a whole lot of variety is available from colors to designs to materials. Go for fringes or meshes, add an element of quirk with some embroidery or a little bad-ass-ness with chunky zips or buckles. There are a lot of options for those who have a fetish for boots.
I played safe with these… like I said I wanted to keep just one in my collection so I wanted something that is versatile. These are comfortable which is the most important factor, suede lasts longer than faux leather (in this humid weather especially) because I knew for a fact that they will make an appearance only once or twice a year maybe and the V cut takes away the basic nature of these shoes plus the heels add some inches to the tiny 5 feet 3 inches frame of mine.
