After ages I am back with another Lime Crime Velvetine that got launched just few months back, and so it’s on top of every makeup lover’s wish list. Yes, yes, I am talking about Lime crime Velvetine Liquid-To-Matte Lip Stain “Utopia”.

My Experience With Lime Crime Utopia

Okay, I was never into violet/purple shades when it comes to lipsticks as this is the shade that I never thought would suit me. Infact I always thought “purple is not my color”!  But with the change in time and taste I jumped from my usual pinks and reds, sometimes browns, directly to this gorgeous purple shade.

This time I decided to go for something different. Brave me!

After going through many online swatches of Velvetine Utopia I finally decided to give it a try. So, I ordered Utopia from their website. Within 14 days I got the delivery without any hassle and here it is ….ta daaaa!!!

Packaging: –

Lime Crime Velvetine comes in a nice rosy red carton. Encased in frosted glass packaging the lip stain has doe-foot applicator which is ideal for application. The cap has the name Lime Crime which I find it cute! I really love the frosted glass packaging as it shows the color from outside.

Shade description:-

The shade Utopia according to Lime Crime is a beautiful “Vibrant Orchid” shade. It is very bright and bold which is of course the signature feature of all Lime Crime products. The shade can be described as cool toned purple with hint of fuchsia pink. The shade is just perfect for Indian skin tone.

Texture:-

Utopia is creamier in texture and less drying on lips. Like the other shades it doesn’t tend to dry your lips to an extent to apply a lip balm after few hours. In fact I found my lips so comfortable while wearing Utopia on lips. It was an “OMGGGGGG” moment for me when I first applied it on my lips. The shade is so pretty that I am already out of words. The shade is pretty close to Mac Retro matte lipstick Flat out fabulous but I found this to be more vibrant and it leans more towards purple on lips than the Mac one.

Lime Crime Velvetine is actually a lip stain which is claiming to be a vegan and cruelty –free so thumbs up for that. 🙂

Velvetine Utopia turns into true matte after 30 seconds which is just bang on for a matte lover. But proper exfoliation and moisturisation of lips is suggested prior to applying a Velvetine as on dry lips it tends to accentuate dry lines and can look flaky too. Eek…avoid this please!

Pigmentation:-

Utopia is much pigmented, opaque in just one swipe and true vibrant orchid shade in two coats. Utopia stays almost 6 hours on my lips but it fades slightly from the centre of your lips first if you are having an oily food. But to remove it completely I have to use an oil base makeup remover only as it is waterproof. Like other Velvetine lip stains this one as well smells like cookies but not that strong like the other Velvetine lip stains.
