 Hey Everyone,

Finally!!!!!!! My internet is working, this post has been sitting in my drafts since forever due to the internet issues that I am facing lately. Still working on the problem, might take a day or two more (because the internet guy is a *insert indecent word* ) Anyhoo let’s get started with the review.

Lakme Absolute Blur Perfect Makeup Primer

Primers are the foundation of your foundation if explained in simple terms. They create a canvas for your makeup to glide smoothly and adhere to your skin longer. Lakme has introduced Absolute Blur Perfect Makeup Primer and I feel really happy when Lakme comes up with something as nice as this because it’s that one brand which is easily available and always affordable (minus a few exceptions).

My Experience With The Lakme Absolute Blur Perfect Makeup Primer

The Lakme Absolute Blur Perfect Makeup Primer comes in a simple tube packaging that is travel-friendly. The pin hole dispenser makes it hygienic and helps control the amount of product that is squeezed out.

The texture is light and fluffy which glides on the skin and blends quickly to give a velvety smooth skin (it’s silicon-based). It also brightens up the face but there is a catch here(will talk about it later). This primer imparts a soft matte look but does not control much of oil, it just delays the time when oil starts seeping through the problem zones. Since it mattifies the skin, it’s on the drier side so prep your skin well with a suitable moisturizer before this step.

After applying the primer, I felt that it did blur out minor redness and slight imperfections. It fills up the pores making them appear at least 30-40% smaller than what they actually are and increases the longevity of the foundation by 3-4 hours (tested on some non-long-wear foundations).

Now coming to the part that does not bother me but will not work for everyone is the tint that this primer has. It has a blush pink color to it which blends and looks natural on fair skin and makes it appear brighter(as I mentioned above) but looks very obvious, unnatural and powdery on dark or uneven skin. It will not show if you choose to wear a full coverage foundation but if worn under a bb/cc cream or a medium coverage foundation you might not like the end result. (Do test it by applying on the face before buying and not on the forearm).

I did not get any breakouts or irritation after using this primer and it was comfortable on the skin though not really lightweight. I am currently loving the Lakme Primer & New CC Cream (review) combo as my go-to makeup.

“Info On A Silver Platter”

If you are looking out for pore minimization or matte/velvet matte effect then this one makes for a perfect choice. The best part being that it’s affordable and easily available.Initially looking at the texture I felt it was quite similar to the famous Benefit Porefessional but no, when swatched together, I realised that the Porefessional is superior in terms of quality, performance and feels more light on the skin but this one is no less. The quality is great looking at the price, only the pink tint might not work for everyone.

    1. It’s recommended because it smoothens the skin before the application of foundation and makes it last longer. Some primers also avoid makeup meltdown during hot and humid days.
